The Bigger Picture Doesn't Need To Concern You Just Yet

If you give me a job, I am the type of person that wants to know why I am doing it. What is the bigger picture? If I am responsible for making this widget, I would like to know where that widget goes, and how it works with all of the other widgets in the system. Some people are comfortable in showing up at work, doing their task, and going home. Not me. I want to know why I am doing that task and how it fits in with the bigger picture.

Are You A Fighter?

I saw a music video by a guy named David Crowder. If you don't know who he is, he is a christian musician that looks like he would be more at home changing the oil in your car. I will post the video below, and maybe his style is not for you, but the message is a good one.

In A Fog

I have to admit that when we go somewhere as a family, I always let my husband drive. I feel safer with him behind the wheel. Especially when the weather is not so good, or it is dark outside.

Once I had to drive myself when it was real foggy out. Everything was gray and murky, and I was real nervous. I hated the fact that I could not see the next corner or the oncoming traffic until I was right on top of it. I know that if I just stay in my lane and drive an appropriate speed, that everything will probably be alright. But my knuckles where white with me gripping the steering wheel.

Testing The Limits

Many times before we actually commit to buy something, the creators and sellers encourage us to test their products. For instance, I saw a mattress company say that you can test out their mattress for 100 nights. If you fail to love it, they will give you a full refund and pay for shipping. That is a pretty good guarantee.

Don't Run Backwards

Yesterday I was watching a soccer game. Well, watching is not really accurate. My kids were watching it on TV and I walked through the room. I have no interest in sports what-so-ever. It was just on as I walked through. But as I happened to glance at the screen, I noticed that these guys sometimes had to run backwards.

That made me think: What would happen if I tried to run backwards? I think we all know the answer to that question. It would likely result in a trip to the E.R.

Anna's Life Preserver

Imagine you are in the middle of the ocean. You have been treading water forever, and you are not sure how much longer you can hang on. About the time you think it couldn't get any worse, a storm comes up. Now you are trying to tread water in 10 foot waves in the wind and the dark. You are exhausted beyond measure, and you are almost ready to just close your eyes and sink beneath the waves. You're ready to give up.

That is when you notice the life preserver floating next to you...

Keep Calm - Finish Line Ahead

If we are being truly honest with ourselves, we are responsible for a lot of misfortune and craziness that surround our lives. We make choices and decisions and then have to reap what we sow. Some things, however, are simply out of our control. They just happen.
