Sometimes you feel like you are surrounded. That there are circumstances that have built up around you and you cannot escape. That there is no hope in victory over your situation. Just crushing defeat. Maybe it is your finances imploding. Maybe your boss just seems out to get you. Maybe it is a medical condition. Whatever it is for you, there has always been one answer.
When you feel the pressure of a situation closing in, the last thing you want to hear is, "What does the bible say about it?"
The truth is, however, there is a lot of comfort and guidance to be found within those pages.
“Just after that, Hanani the seer came to Asa king of Judah and said, “Because you went for help to the king of Aram and didn’t ask GOD for help, you’ve lost a victory over the army of the king of Aram. Didn’t the Ethiopians and Libyans come against you with superior forces, completely outclassing you with their chariots and cavalry? But you asked GOD for help and he gave you the victory. GOD is always on the alert, constantly on the lookout for people who are totally committed to him. You were foolish to go for human help when you could have had God’s help. Now you’re in trouble—one round of war after another.””
2 Chronicles 16:7-9
PRAYER:
Daddy God, we praise your holy name. We love and adore you for all you do, and all you are. Lord, we come before you totally sold out to you. Willing and able to go and do your will. We want to be your vessel, and not count on worldly help in times of need. Lord we want to pursue you. For as we walk in your will, you are constructing our lives to show the world that you are king. You will bless and restore us as we give ourselves to you. You are my God and I love you with all I have. Let those around me see Christ in me. Let me never forget, even when life is good, that you are in charge and will bring me through any trial. I will be victorious and blessed because Christ lives in me. Amen!!
