OK, buckle up. Here we go. Yesterday, if you remember, I said I wanted to talk about prosperity for a few days. Prosperity in our financial lives, prosperity in our spiritual lives, emotional lives, and the rest of our physical lives. Because prosperity is a big word that can cover a lot of things. Not just money. In fact, if you only tie it to money, then you are being narrow minded about the possibilities, and repressing your potential blessing.
Here is a scripture, for instance, that most would think has nothing to do with prosperity...
“You are right, O GOD, and you set things right. I can’t argue with that. But I do have some questions: Why do bad people have it so good? Why do con artists make it big? You planted them and they put down roots. They flourished and produced fruit. They talk as if they’re old friends with you, but they couldn’t care less about you. Meanwhile, you know me inside and out. You don’t let me get by with a thing! Make them pay for the way they live, pay with their lives, like sheep marked for slaughter. How long do we have to put up with this— the country depressed, the farms in ruin— And all because of wickedness, these wicked lives? Even animals and birds are dying off Because they’ll have nothing to do with God and think God has nothing to do with them.”
Jeremiah 12:1-4 MSG
Let's face it. We can get frustrated at times when we see people that won't have anything to do with God, seemingly coast through life with no worries. It hardly seems fair at all.
But when it comes to God, He is looking for a one on one relationship where you are so focused on Him, you could care less about what is going on with others. In fact, it is in the hard times where true growth really occurs.
If you prune a tree, will it not grow better?
I know that in my marriage, my husband and I went through a rough patch where I did not even think we would stay married. It was a very hard time in my life. But now, on the other side, I can truly say that without that rough patch, our marriage would never be as strong as it is now.
Sometimes, the valley of life is one of our own choices. We put ourselves there by being silly. Sometimes, it is just life. That is just the way it is. Other times, God starts pruning at us because He wants us to grow.
Hard times and frustration are going to happen. Period. It is what you choose to do with them that matters.
If we want to be prosperous in every part of our lives, then we must learn to look at every situation and ask, "God, what do I need to learn from this?"
PRAYER:
Daddy God, we love you and worship your holy name. Father, I know you have got us in your hands and that we will come out of life's difficulties in victory. But the waiting and pursuing is hard. So I just ask that you give us strength. That you renew our minds. I rebuke the enemy that will try to get us to give up. I declare that we are strong, we are whole, and we will prosper in our walk with you. I will not give up. When the end comes, I will be victorious, because I know you will bring me through. Healing is ours, strength in or minds and bodies is ours, and prosperity is ours because you died on the cross so all we do will be blessed. So father God we stand on your word. In your holy and precious name. Amen!!!
Be Blessed.
