I have been working on become free from debt for a little over a year now. I long to be financial prosperous. I want to have all my bills paid and want for nothing. Who doesn't, right? What I am learning, however, is more than just the skills required to prosper with money. God wants to give us prosperity in our marriages, in our homes, in the way we love people, and at our jobs. In other words every area of our lives. So if we were to learn how to be prosperous with just with our money, we are not getting all that God is freely giving.
I learned at an early age that God was suppose to get ten percent of everything you make, and by doing that I still have a home and a car to get me around despite the serious financial setback we have recently had. But what I have also learned is God wants to give his prosperity in my marriage he wants to increase my love for my husband and unite us as one so we proper in this broken world. He want to flourish my family so that my kids grow up and prosper in there lives. He wants to direct and guide me in my job so that I may prosper on my job.
So if giving to God gets me financial security even when it looks like my financial world is crumbling around me, then giving over my kids, marriage, and home to God should reap me a reward there too.
As I begin to meditate on that thought, please know that in the coming days I am going to talk more about prosperity. Not just the financial kind, but the physical and spiritual kind as well.
God wants to be a part of every area of our lives. We have to be willing to give over all parts of our lives, if we want to be blessed in them.

“I want you woven into a tapestry of love, in touch with everything there is to know of God. Then you will have minds confident and at rest, focused on Christ, God’s great mystery. All the richest treasures of wisdom and knowledge are embedded in that mystery and nowhere else. And we’ve been shown the mystery! I’m telling you this because I don’t want anyone leading you off on some wild-goose chase, after other so-called mysteries, or “the Secret.””
Colossians 2:2-4 MSG
