Intertwining Coolness

This weekend I learned something that really made me open my eyes on what trusting God really means. This one little new tidbit of information maybe help you get through the next hair frizzing dip on the rollercoaster of life.

There is a well known scripture in the Bible that says the following:
“But those who trust in the LORD will find new strength. They will soar high on wings like eagles. They will run and not grow weary. They will walk and not faint.”
‭‭Isaiah‬ ‭40:31‬ ‭NLT‬‬

I learned, thanks to my Pastor, that the at the root of the word "trust" in Hebrew, is a meaning that says to intertwine. Exactly like when you braid something together. As any woman who has braided hair knows, when you do that, it becomes very difficult to break.

My Pastor even painted the picture, that if you wanted to, you could pick someone right off the ground by picking them up from their braids. Not that he was suggesting that we do so. Although, as a mother of a teenage girl, I have considered it a time or two.

This deeper meaning of that word trust, made it more meaningful to me. If I am to truly trust in the Lord, then I must intertwine myself with him, so that who He is, runs through me in such a way that I cannot be broken.

PRAYER:
Daddy God, I love you with all I am. I thank you for the day you have given us. I pray that we may honor and glorify your holy name. I am learning more and more about how to totally trust you in every area of my life. I just ask that you continue to teach me. That all that read this learn to trust you in everything they do and say. We want to be entwined with your love and strength, so that no matter what comes our way, we will do your will and trust you. We also pray for all that are sick. That you would reach down and touch their bodies. Heal them in their physical bodies, and in their minds. Also, if you would touch those that have lost someone. Give them strength in their spirits, and renew their minds. That your presence just fill them up with your love. Today as we go forth in the holy power of your name, we thank you for the opportunity to trust you with our lives. Amen!!

Be blessed.
