Despite my love affair, I had a really big weakness. A weakness that the enemy took advantage of.
Something I have always been guilty of, is caring about what others thought about me. I suffer with this even today. But as a teenager it took a real turn for the worse.
I had been known to have a real bubbly personality. People would likely still describe me this way. But as a young teenager, the enemy began to really exploit my weakness and convince me that no one really cared about me. That people were only out to take advantage of my good nature. That people really did not like me at all.
Soon I began to withdraw into myself. I began to start suffering from depression. Because I wanted people to like me, however, I still did anything people asked of me. I helped wherever I could. Not because people needed my help, but because I wanted them like me. I was trying to buy other's friendship and approval, by doing things for them.
Because God is a good God, and because I loved Him so much, I was eventually rescued from that thinking, and from that particular power that the enemy had over me. That rescue is a story for another occasion.
The point that I am trying to make, is that everyone one of us has a weakness. A real Achilles Heel that can bring us down. The enemy knows what that weakness is and will use it to take you away from the loving embrace of Daddy God. He will use it to drive a wedge between your heart and the peace and joy of Jesus Christ.
What we have got to do is stop believing the lies that the enemy is telling us. We need to step out in faith to do what the Father is tell us to do. Today is the first day of the rest of your life. God is ready to talk, to guide, to speak, and will always love you. Today is the day to take a step of faith, and believe that you are a child of God. To believe that you will be lead by his voice, and that all who sees you, will see God's joy in you. No longer doubt that you are not good enough. Jesus loves you. There is no truth more simple, and there is no truth more powerful.
“Be cheerful no matter what; pray all the time; thank God no matter what happens. This is the way God wants you who belong to Christ Jesus to live.”
1 Thessalonians 5:16-18 MSG
“So be content with who you are, and don’t put on airs. God’s strong hand is on you; he’ll promote you at the right time. Live carefree before God; he is most careful with you.”
1 Peter 5:6-7 MSG
PRAYER:
Daddy God, I thank you for loving me. I truly love you and know in my heart you are guiding and directing my life. So as we step out today to begin a new week, we ask that our hearts are filled with your love, and that as your spirit dwells in us, we become more confident in you no matter what the enemy throws our way. I will know the lie and disregard it because my God loves me. He does not put me down or make me feel unworthy, because he created me to be like Him, and he loves me. I want to be your living example in this world. I love you, Daddy God, and I will live for you all the days of my life. Amen!!!
Be blessed.
