On My Daddy's Knee

Good morning, everyone. I hope you are all having a great day. I have been thinking on a few things these last few days. My pastor has been teaching a series called "Approaching God". It has been designed to teach us how to have a closer, deeper relationship with God. It has been a great series for me, because I have often worried over if I am even hearing what God is saying.

Part of the series focused on the word "ask". In it, I am discovering just how much God wants us to ask Him things. Not from the standpoint of begging God for stuff, but rather from the standpoint of relationship building. I imagine it like a kid sitting on Daddy's lap talking to him. Asking Him questions like I asked my earthly father.

Why is the sky blue? How far away are the stars. How come I am left handed when everyone else is right handed?

God wants me to talk to Him just like a child that talks to their daddy. He wants me to wonder about His word so that I can discover new things about Him.

Your Heavenly Father wants to listen to you. He also wants to talk to you. He will listen and then He will talk. Communication. He wants to hear you and He wants you to hear Him. So take some time the next few days and talk to God. About whatever. And don't be afraid to ask Him questions. You will be amazed what He will say when you ask, and more importantly, are willing to listen.

Deuteronomy 7:9 (MSG) Know this: God, your God, is God indeed, a God you can depend upon. He keeps his covenant of loyal love with those who love him and observe his commandments for a thousand generations.

“Pray in the Spirit at all times and on every occasion. Stay alert and be persistent in your prayers for all believers everywhere.”
‭‭Ephesians‬ ‭6:18

PAYER:
Daddy God, I love you and adore your presence. I long to dwell with you. So today, as we go about our day, we ask that you show us your plan. Strengthen our communication with you, for we know the more we talk and communicate the easier it will become. We want to hear what you have planned for our lives and where you want us to be. Just like our earthly father, you want the very best for us. So we want to be the very best. We love and honor you. We want our Daddy God to be proud of us, and we want more than anything to give honor and blessing to our God. Amen!!!‬ ‭

Be blessed.
