He was making this point in regards to learning to live a life like Christ. Like the picture shown in this post, we have to learn to live a better life through practice. It does not just magically come to us. This means that, like the kid learning to ride a bike, there is risk involved. There is a very real chance that we might fall on our face. But the only way we can learn this, is to do this. And do it over and over again until we get it right. We can't learn how to be better people, better Christians, better parents, etc. all at once. We have to choose a challenge, one challenge at a time, and decide to get on the bike. Just remember, that like the photo in this post, our Daddy is right behind us...
“Since you have been raised to new life with Christ, set your sights on the realities of heaven, where Christ sits in the place of honor at God’s right hand. Think about the things of heaven, not the things of earth. For you died to this life, and your real life is hidden with Christ in God. And when Christ, who is your life, is revealed to the whole world, you will share in all his glory.”
Colossians 3:1-4 NLT
Daddy God, first I want to say thank you. Thank you for loving me even when I am unlovable. Thank you for giving me the Holy Spirit that helps to teach me your ways, and guide my thoughts and actions so that I may live your word. Thank you for making me a joint heir with you. As we go forth this week, I ask that you help me to practice living fully in you. For as the phrase goes, practice makes perfect. So as I practice fully living for you, I ask that you light my path and direct my words so I may be your light in this world. You are my provider and help. I am truly thankful for your spirit that lives in me. I love you, Lord with all I am. Amen!!
Be blessed!
